SupaLite roof review

SupaLite is a lightweight tiled roof that replaces the glass or polycarbonate roof on an existing conservatory. It is designed, engineered and made at SupaLite’s own factory in Preston, Lancashire, and sold through independent approved installers. You get an insulated tiled roof outside and a plastered ceiling inside, with the option of built-in glass panels.

It is a smaller brand than Guardian or Ultraframe, with fewer installers and very few public reviews. That is not a mark against the product, but it does mean you rely more on the installer’s own track record.

Who makes SupaLite?

The maker is SupaLite Tiled Roof Systems Ltd, company number 06930456. It was incorporated on 11 June 2009 as Canterbury Conservatories (NI) Limited, later became Celtic Vista Ltd and took its current name on 20 March 2015. Its registered office is at Walton Summit Centre, Preston. SupaLite Holdings Ltd owns it, SupaLite Group Ltd owns the holding company, and David Watters and Steven Lee Hacking each hold 25 to 50% of the group company.

SupaLite says the business was “born in 2009” by Group Chairman David Watters, moved to Preston in 2012, added a factory unit in 2019 and a machining centre in 2020. It says it was the first in its industry to become CORGI Fenestration registered (2017). Besides the tiled roof it makes the S2 conservatory roof, SkyVista glass panels, the ILite flat roof, the S1 roof lantern and its own ExtraLight tiles.

How a SupaLite roof is built

SupaLite’s published build-up:

• A precision-engineered lightweight aluminium frame with an aluminium eaves ring beam and ridge.
• Tanalised timber battens.
• 100mm of insulation between the rafters plus a further 25mm layer, for a total depth of 150mm or more.
• Exterior plywood and a breathable membrane under the tiles.
• Insulated plasterboard inside, ready to plaster. Older brochures also show a flat 2400mm ceiling with a 350mm lighting pelmet, and a tongue and groove timber-effect option.

SupaLite’s installation guide strongly recommends trickle vents around the internal perimeter of the window frames and air bricks in the dwarf walls, to keep condensation down. Our guide to conservatory ventilation explains why.

SupaLite says a 4m x 4m conservatory typically takes 2 to 3 days, with internal finishing “typically completed in just a day or two”. One installer says 3 to 5 days, including a day for plastering.

SkyVista glass panels

SkyVista adds one or two solar control, self-cleaning glass panels to the tiled roof. SupaLite says they reflect up to 60% of solar heat and let through up to 47% of light (its product page says 45%). SkyVista Glow adds thermostatically controlled heated glass, which SupaLite says costs about 9p an hour per panel at 25p per kWh. It fits Edwardian, Victorian and lean-to styles and works only with the SupaLite roof. If you want more glass than that, compare hybrid roofs.

SupaLite roof cost in 2026

SupaLite is one of the few tiled systems with a headline price in circulation:

ExpertSure says the £10,000 figure was SupaLite’s published price, but it was not on supalite.uk when our researchers checked. Our researched range for tiled roofs on a medium conservatory is £7,400 to £12,100 fitted, typically about £9,600. When you compare, remember SupaLite’s headline figure is for 10 m² and excludes VAT. Who sells and fits SupaLite roofs?

SupaLite does not fit roofs. It passes enquiries to a “nationwide network of approved independent installers” and does not say how many. ExpertSure estimates about 30, concentrated in the North West. Trade suppliers such as Stevenswood and Direct Roofing Systems also supply it.

Companies House lists dozens of regional companies using the SupaLite name, most of them dissolved, including SupaLite Roof Systems Ltd (dissolved 21 January 2025). Their link to the Preston manufacturer is not confirmed. Before you sign, check the installer’s own company number, how long it has traded and who backs its guarantee.

SupaLite problems and reviews

The “SupaLite Tiled Roof System” Trustpilot profile was unclaimed with no reviews on 27 September 2026. SupaLite’s own website displays a Google rating of 4.1. With so little public feedback, we found no pattern of product complaints.

The drawbacks in our research are practical:

• One comparison site puts the weight at 49 kg/m², heavier than LivinRoof, LEKA and UltraRoof on the same site’s figures.
• The installer network is smaller and regional, according to ExpertSure.
• Guarantee terms are unclear: ExpertSure says they are not published, while SupaLite’s product page and installers give different lengths. Our guide to conservatory roof guarantees explains what to get in writing.

Verdict: who SupaLite suits

SupaLite suits you if you live in the North West or near one of its installers, want a UK-made tiled roof with a 0.15 or 0.12 U-value, and like the idea of a heated or solar control glass panel built into the tiles. It suits you less if you want a large installer network to choose from, lots of independent reviews, or clearly published guarantee terms.

When you get quotes, ask the SupaLite installer for the guarantee length and who backs it in writing, the U-value your roof will be built to, and how long the firm itself has been trading.
