Conservatory Outlet roofs review

Conservatory Outlet is different from the other brands we review. Guardian, Ultraframe, SupaLite and LEKA design roof systems and sell them to independent installers. Conservatory Outlet is a manufacturer with its own retail network: you buy from a local “Premium Retailer” that sells Conservatory Outlet conservatories and roofs in an exclusive area. Its range covers glass, tiled, solid, flat and lantern roofs.

That model can make it easier to find a supplier, but it also means you need to look past the brand name to the local business you are dealing with.

Who is Conservatory Outlet?

The company is CO Manufacturing Limited, trading as Conservatory Outlet, company number 05452183. It was incorporated on 13 May 2005 and was called Conservatory Outlet Limited until 6 October 2025. Its registered office is at Thornes Lane Wharf, Wakefield. It is owned through Conservatory Outlet Holdings Ltd by Conservatory Outlet Group Ltd, in which Gregory Kane and Michael Alexander Giscombe each hold 25 to 50%.

Conservatory Outlet says it manufactures in the UK, vets its Premium Retailers, gives them exclusive trading areas (and says they are not franchises), and offers a price-match promise.

What roofs does Conservatory Outlet sell?

Tiled roofs

Conservatory Outlet describes its tiled roofs as insulated plywood and rigid insulation board with lightweight tile or slate-effect coverings. Glass panels or Velux roof windows can be built in. Its product page does not name the maker of the underlying roof system.

Separately, it markets an insulated “Ultraroof Conservatory”. Ultraframe makes the UltraRoof 380 and holds its LABC Registered Detail; the commercial relationship between the two companies is not confirmed. If you are quoted an “Ultraroof”, ask whether it is the Ultraframe UltraRoof 380 and ask for the certificate. Our UltraRoof 380 review covers that product.

Glass roofs

Its replacement glass roof is an aluminium roof with solar control glazing; again, the system maker is not named. Glass choices are Aqua, Neutral, Blue, Clear and ClearOne tints, a Satin Privacy opaque finish, and self-cleaning or easy-clean coatings. No U-value, light transmission or solar rejection figures are published, so ask for them.

Conservatory Outlet roof cost in 2026

Conservatory Outlet’s FAQ says: “A small conservatory roof can cost from around £5,000 and you will be looking at about £12,000+ for a large replacement roof.” That applies to replacement roofs generally, not to one roof type, and the FAQ is undated.

For comparison, our researched ranges for a medium conservatory in 2026 are £7,400 to £12,100 fitted for a tiled roof (typically about £9,600) and £3,500 to £7,000 for a glass roof (typically about £5,200). Who sells and fits Conservatory Outlet roofs?

Premium Retailers sell and fit the roofs, and your contract is with them. That makes the retailer’s own record, trading history and guarantee backing more important than the brand. Check the retailer’s company number on Companies House, how long it has traded and which insurer backs the guarantee.

On building regulations, Conservatory Outlet’s FAQ says a roof upgrade “will need Building Regulations Approval” as a general statement. LABC ties the requirement to replacing a translucent roof with a solid one: a tiled roof needs approval, while a like-for-like glass roof on a conservatory that stays exempt normally does not. Reported problems and reviews

Conservatory Outlet’s Trustpilot profile was unclaimed with no reviews on 27 September 2026, so there is no aggregate customer score to report. Reviews of your local retailer are the better guide.

The one formal finding against the company in our research is old. On 20 March 2013 the Advertising Standards Authority upheld complaints against Conservatory Outlet Ltd on all points (misleading advertising, substantiation and testimonials). The ASA found that the same testimonial appeared on different websites under different customer names, and the company could not show the testimonials were genuine or used with permission. That ruling is over 13 years old and we found no later ASA ruling against the company. Other points to check:

• The underlying tiled and glass systems are not named, which makes it harder to look up a system certificate or installation guide.

Conservatory Outlet suits you if there is a well-reviewed Premium Retailer near you, you want one firm to handle a tiled or glass roof, and you value a long glass roof guarantee with insurance backing. It suits you less if you want to know exactly which roof system you are buying, or published U-values and light figures for the glass.
